Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

We're not sure where Jimi and Rhett disappeared to but we found this cute pair! Check out the cowdog (complete with cowboy boots) and witch! Every year we split into teams to carve the pumpkins- Shawn and Jimi decided on Frankenstein and Rhett decided that we needed Lightning McQueen. Yeah for mom! It was great fun and soon Frankenstein was just Frank (you Cars fans will understand).

Trick or treating was an all day marathon this year- from the Kindergarten party to running errands they were in costume all day and collected treats at all the stores we went in.

The Cow Crew

Our cows spent the summer pastured at Slug Creek. When it was time to take them back to Montpelier, we were lucky to have really nice weather! Jimi, Roany, Spud, Shawn, Putter, Rhett and Yogi are in the picture ready to get started!

Summer Fun!

Since we are still in the "catching up phase" for the blog and getting things on here is more of a priority than getting them in chronological order- here is how we spent our summer! Jimi and Rhett are loving the junior rodeos!

Rhett likes the lead line barrels, but doesn't want to actually be led or held onto in any way. He did stick horse barrels and had much more fun taking his time and hearing everyone laugh and cheer than hurrying through for a fast time, goat ribbon pulling was a different story- he didn't mind running in that. He had a great time!

Jimi and Roany are a great team in the barrels and poles-she's holding some of her loot and one of her checks in the picture. She usually entered the goat ribbon tie, but didn't really find much fun in the stick horse barrels- I guess she figures why run when you can ride!

First Day of School

Jimi started Kindergarten on August 28, 2007 at Urie Elementary. She was a lot more excited than the rest of us! She did agree to let me take her on the first day, but only on the condition that "I AM riding the bus the second day!" I wonder how she'll feel about the bus 10 years from now?

Melody Lords is her teacher and we have heard wonderful things about her so that is exciting. She also lived around the corner from the house that we rented when we first moved here, so that makes Jimi feel a little connection.

Rhett seems to think that he is going to go too. He has been telling everyone he sees that he is going to start Kindergarten and Mrs. Lords is his teacher. Wouldn't his sister love that?!
